Can the floods of Bihar drouse the fire in Orissa....?

The 2 major calamities in our country at this moment are the bihar floods and the Christian killings in orissa .The first one a natural calamity and the latter a man-made one. The former could not be avoided even though we could control its fury and its effect on the people, but the latter one could have been easily avoided. I actually read a little about the complete incident before writing about it. I read both the point of views, also happened to read Ram Madhav's (RSS) article about the incident.

This is not the first time that there have been violent protests against Christian missionaries. Even in the past there have been many incidents like the unfamed incident of Graham Staines. Even in the recent past there have been many incidents which were not given much publicity by the media, the reasons being that it wouldn't boost their TRP'S and also they are not sure which side to stand by ,the right one or the popular one , when the issue is a communal one. All Clashes involving humans are either because of Women or Money, in this case it is because of politicians quest for power, which would give them more votes ,which would mean they can form a government , which translates they can make more money!!Ya it is true Sri Krishna has said "The way is not important the goal is”, but do they have a justified goal?? Ram Rajya is just a concept of politicians and so was the crusades a concept of the then bureaucracy of England. It is so easy to get things done in the name of religion, shrewd politicians and other so called religious leaders use this weakness to exploit people. Coming back to the recent violence in Orissa, the reason being the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati , the state government, a coalition of BJD and BJP clearly states that Naxals are responsible for the murder and there is every reason to believe them because as we all know Orissa as is other parts in central India is Naxal infested, also coupled with the fact that naxals a.k.a. maoists are against all communal organizations, they believe in the communist philosophy where "MAN" is the main element and the one who created “MAN” is not significant, that is plainly speaking they are against all religions and respected Ram Madhav says there is a nexus between the naxals and the missionaries. When I apply basic common sense, I can easily conclude that this is not possible because the naxals themselves don't follow any religion and are actually against all religions blaming that religions cause social divisions which is against the development of “MAN”, so how come they are associated with the missionaries. One thing is very clear that the politicians and other leaders want to take mileage from the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati. Why aren't the Hindu organizations demanding a CBI probe into the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati? Considering the fact that for every issue in India the first thing that is demanded by the opposition is a CBI probe. I myself think a CBI probe should be conducted to this entire episode and the real culprits irrespective of there religion, caste or any other social division should be punished harshly.

Coming to the core issue of the missionary work in Orissa, Many people ridicule the missionary work as a white man's responsibilty, the old concept of imperialism. But it's not only the white man who's working there, along with them there are so many Indian's working for their fellow Indians. In the hinterland of India the state of the people are very bad. We people who stay in the cities can hardly imagine that. In the poor parts of the country we can get a full meal for less than Rs 5(around 1/8th of a dollar) and still people there cannot afford it! The medical facilities there are better left uncommented. People there have no means to get educated .Because of the caste system which was till recently prevalent in these parts they were not allowed to enter Hindu temples and even now they are not entertained in Hindu temples, so they weren’t followers of any religion. When the missionaries who came to these places for humanitarian and other development works preached to them about Christianity, since it appealed to them they got baptized (and not converted).I do not say that this is true with all religious conversions, without a fire there will not be smoke, there may be some conversions taking place by luring them with money and other essentials and I myself am against these types of conversions in the same way as the Catholic Church. Those people may have succeeded in changing there religion but can they successfully implant Christianity into their heart? Never I would say. And I really pity them; the so called people on a religious mission do not understand the real Christianity. You may manage to forcefully convert a thousand people without even one understanding or following the religion. The same is valid for every religion conversions irrespective of whether it’s from Christianity or vice versa or between any other 2 religions.


I cannot leave out mentioning about the various non-catholic groups conducting conversions. There are many non-catholic groups who have their own theory about things. Who believe and propagate ideas which differ in fundamentals from the Catholic Church. They not only convert people from other religions to their faith but also convert catholic people to their faith. We refer to them as amoeba churches which change their shape (read beliefs) every time and do not have any fixed shape. They usually try and brainwash people regarding their faith and somehow make it appealing to the other person, which is unlike the Catholic Church which has fixed beliefs solely from the teachings of Jesus and the scriptures. And evangelism for the Catholic Church means spreading the word of god that is making others aware about Jesus in the same way as ISKON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) and many other organizations of other religions do. I don’t find anything wrong in that.

What about the people who want to willingly convert to Christianity? Considering that India is a secular country we should actually grant the freedom to the person, which religion he wants to follow or if he doesn't want to follow any. We are actually completely misled by our corrupt mean leaders. We should let people decide their religions themselves and if an occasion of forced conversion takes place then prosecute them. I would just like to inform my readers that A.R. Rahman the famed musician was a born Hindu, he later converted to Islam. There are so many Indian Christians and Foreign Christians who have converted to Hinduism and can be seen by you in many ashrams all across India.. The religion you follow/not follow should be your choice, a decision taken all by yourself. I guess this way its better. As is given in Bhagvad Gita "karma" is what is important. The name is Karma taken from Bhagvad Gita , but all religions basically emphasizes on this cause and effect theory, with some slight changes.

Talking about the different Educational, Medical and other institutions setup by the church. There are very few families in India who haven't been served by a Christian institution. Have you ever felt that they were trying to propagate their religion in an unfair way, yes true they may have given you some knowledge about Christianity. There is a friend of mine from my college who is a catholic by birth but is an atheist, in spite of the fact that he was educated in a church run school and now studies in a church run college, so where’s the question of propagating the Christian religion through Church run institutions. There was this other allegation that the institutions run by the church are only to earn money and they are least interested in the poor, I had studied for some years in a church run school and I still remember that for poor students in the school they used to distribute books, uniforms, they didn't have to pay fees also and they also used to distribute food during the break time irrespective of their religion or any other social division, they used to take heavy donations from those people who could afford it, otherwise from where could they get money to support these poor students. There are many more such support given to students doing professional courses, but they do not divulge the information avoiding embarrassment for the beneficiaries.

Notional Theory: Religious harmony is a far away goal for us, when do we at least start practicing religious tolerance. You may search for God all over the Universe and may end up not finding him try finding him in the people you meet everyday ,you will definitely find him and that may end most of the problems in the name of religion, caste creed etc.
